Recommendation

Generally I would say Maxis plans offer better value in call and sms. For 12 months contract Galaxy S4, Maxis is winner.

I’m working in 24 months comparison chart, please do not forget to check back later.

Cheapest Contract Free iPhone 5 Plan ?

Finally iPhone 5 launched in Malaysia last Friday, and Apple Online Store Malaysia also began to sell iPhone 5 (GSM Unlocked) without contract for those who prefer not to sign up either a 12 months or 24 months contract with Celcom, DiGi and Maxis.

Last week I’ve spent almost whole day to analyze all the 24 months contracts offered by 3 telcos, and published a post ‘Best 24 Months Contracted iPhone 5 Plan – Celcom vs DiGi vs Maxis‘. I’d exhausted and I became quite lazy to analyze the non-contract iPhone 5, so I’ve decided to postpone until I feel comfortable to write. 🙂

Apple iPhone 5 Non Contract

I would say one of the main purpose of owning an iPhone 5 is to use data service. If an expensive smartphone like iPhone 5 has no data plan, that’s not only ridiculous, but also a waste, even you’re so rich. Therefore in my comparison chart of the prepaid and postpaid plans, I may not include those pricing are higher than contracted iPhone 5 packages.

Nano Sim Card for iPhone 5 – Celcom, DiGi, Maxis, U Mobile

Tomorrow iPhone 5 will be official launched in Malaysia by Celcom, DiGi and Maxis. And tonight thousands of peoples will go to queue at SoHoKL (DiGi), Capsquare Centre (Maxis) or selected Celcom Blue Cube for being the first to own the long waited Apple iPhone 5.

For those who have already owned an iPhone 5 regardless purchased from Singapore or anywhere from the world or those who will buy 1 extra iPhone 5 from Maxis during the launch event (Maxis allow to buy 1 extra iPhone 5 without contract after 1st contract signed), you definitely need a nano sim card.

Although there are plenty of tutorials guiding you on how to cut your current normal or micro sim card into nano sim card as well as some phone shops began to offer the cutting service, but you must take into consideration that it may broke your current sim card.

U Mobile Nano Sim Card

Therefore I’ve gathered the information for 4 main telcos on the cost of a new nano sim card replacement. Although U Mobile haven’t offer iPhone 5, but they still offer the nano sim card. It’s a good marketing strategy to gain new customer and retain the current customer.
