Compare Apple new iPad Data Plans

I’m feel really sorry for those who are waiting for today post, as I was very busy and felt sick, so I’ve no time to prepare today post. Hope this will not affect your support to us in RMvalues.

Oh right, let’s keep on to our today product compare. As we know, only DiGi and Maxis are having a special iPad data plan while other telcos have only internet plan or tablets plan, thought they are very similar, but I would choose only Celcom with DiGi and Maxis, because in the last post I’ve choosen Celcom, so here we can clearly compare with and without device bundle plans.

Recommendation

If you’re extremely low usage iPad user, then you can consider

DiGi iPad Lite plan, which is extremely suitable for the following 2 groups of peoples:

  1. Extremely low usage users
  2. Looking for cheapest plan and don’t mind with throttle to 64kbps speed after exceed quota

For low usage iPad user, if you choose DiGi iPad Basic > Celcom First Data Lite

  1. No registration fee (RM 100)
  2. Speed throttle to 128 kbps which is slightly faster than Celcom (64 kbps)
  3. Celcom after 500 MB volume purchase is same price as DiGi, but DiGi speed is slightly faster after exceed quota.

If you choose Celcom First Data Lite > DiGi iPad Basic

  1. RM 10 cheaper
  2. Don’t mind the throttle speed as long as you can continue to surf
  3. Better network coverage

For middle usage plan, I would recommend you to Celcom First Data Basic, why ?

  1. Cheaper
  2. Higher Quota (500 MB)
  3. Cheaper volume purchase price

For high usage plan, I would say DiGi > Maxis > Celcom

DiGi iPad Pro

  1. Cheapest among others
  2. No registration fee

Maxis Super

  1. Faster speed
  2. Additional volume purchase is possible
  3. Better network coverage

Celcom First Data Advance

  1. Fast speed
  2. Cheaper additional volume purchase among others
  3. Best network coverage in Malaysia

For extremely high usage iPad users, I definitely recommend only Celcom First Data Pro, due to:

  1. Cheaper commitment
  2. After 5 GB additional volume purchase (total 15GB, which is same as Maxis Premium), total monthly fees only RM 188 (RM 138 + RM 50), RM 12 cheaper than Maxis
  3. Best network coverage

i think hard before purchasing (new ipad3) ipad Wifi or ipad wifi + cellular and whether to buy direct from apple store or from telcos. After checking with friends who owned ipad (1st gen) and ipad2, i decided to get the basic ipad3 16GB. Here's why:

    1. Fact: ipads are heavy. Most of the time they will be on your lap or on table and you'll be in either at home connecting to your wifi broadband or at kopitiam/McD with free wifi.
    2. In Malaysia, increasing number of mamaks, restaurants and shops are offering free wifis. And we're living in the year 2012 – so moving forward, there will DEFINITELY be more free wifi outlets opening up.
    3. 16GB is sufficient. Why? iOS is a PAIN when it comes to file transfer. Save minimal files on your ipad and stream the rest using AirPort Extreme or Wifi HDDs.
    4. All models offer same Retina display, 5MP camera and 1080p HD recording. Get the basic and enjoy the technology while it lasts – all new ipad4 is rumoured coming up in 10months time. (im not talking about the ipad mini).
