Google First Tablet – Nexus 7

Thanks to my friend, Fakhru Imran for sharing and informing me about the Google had officially unveiled their first tablet – Nexus 7, which manufactured by ASUS at the Google I/O Developer Conference in San Francisco last night. This is Google’s first take on a tablet of their own brand.

Nexus 7 comes with a NVIDIA® Tegra® 3 quad-core processor and A 12‐core GPU delivers rich and immersive graphics while patented 4-PLUS-1(tm) CPU design gives you processing power when you need it, and more battery saving efficiency than others competitors in the market now.

Google Nexus 7 has a resolution of 1280×800 pixels which give you a HD resolution in it’s 7″ IPS display. It has 8GB and 16GB internal storage variants and power with 1GB RAM and a 4325 mAh super high capacity battery which give you up to 8 hours of active usage.

The Google Nexus 7 comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC (Android Beam) connectivity and Google Wallet preinstalled. Sadly, there isn’t 3G connectivity available and only a 1.2MP front-facing snapper. However, it’s capable of shooting 720p video, so it’s not all bad.

Nexus 7 also comes with the most popular Google Apps — Gmail, Chrome, Google+ and YouTube. And come with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)

According to Google official website, the selling price is USD $ 199 (~RM 637) for 8GB and USD $ 249 (~RM 797) for 16GB. It’s very cheap, but sadly to say, Malaysian still have to wait until it start selling in Malaysia.
