Verify your Java version

Java is a programming language and computing platform first released by Sun Microsystems in 1995. It is the underlying technology that powers state-of-the-art programs including utilities, games, and business applications. Java runs on more than 850 million personal computers worldwide, and on billions of devices worldwide, including mobile and TV devices.

There are lots of applications and websites that won’t work unless you have Java installed, and more are created every day. Java is fast, secure, and reliable. From laptops to datacenters, game consoles to scientific supercomputers, cell phones to the Internet, Java is everywhere!

However, most of the application will not work for earlier version, so we have to ensure that the Java version installed is always up to date. I think you must know what is Adobe Flash Player, it’s one of the most wanted software. Without adobe flash, you can watch YouTube. What Java can do and affect our daily life ? I’ll tell you the steps to verify your java version.

First, go to java.com/verify

Then, click the Verify Java Version button.

You will see the screen above, it’s detecting your java installed on your computer. After several minutes, you will see the result.

If you see the screen above, Congratulation! You have the latest version installed. Otherwise please follow the instruction to download the latest version. Currently latest version when I write this post is Version 7 Update 4.

Don’t worry, system requirement for Java is extremely low, Minimum Windows XP, 166MHz or faster processor, 64MB RAM and 98MB free disk space.
